The Art Multi 8 feels like a throwback to childhood days with it's colourful leads and playful operation in one nifty gadget! This multi lead-holder is actually a limited edition version of the Multi 8, which launched in 1982 under the name "Prismate". It has then evolved to a more modern, sleek look while still retaining it's useful function of storing up to 8 leads.

First, let's take a look at the original Multi 8 before delving into its cousins (Super Multi 8 and Art Multi 8 🤩)

Equipped with 1 pencil lead and 7 different coloured leads, the Multi 8 is originally designed for the visual thinkers. With the convenience of packing one pen for the flexibility of a set of color pencils, it is easy to create mindmaps and do creative brainstorming anywhere! 

One thing unique about the Multi 8 and its derivaties is the way the lead is being held and dispensed. Instead of the usual lead dispensing which advances the lead progressively as you click, you press and hold the knock of the Multi 8 while it dispenses the lead via gravity! This allows you to control the length of the lead dispensed at one go. It takes a little getting used to, but that's the fun of its usage! 

The lead performs best on surfaces with a bit of texture (paper with medium tooth) — as most colored leads do. Although the Multi 8 / Art Multi 8 come with a basic range of colours, they can be layered using different sketching techniques to create beautiful gradients. 

The Art Multi 8 is a modern repackaging of the Multi 8 lead holder, featuring cream white details on the knock and clip, and a transparent barrel. This updated design highlights the colorful leads while providing a cleaner look that is suitable for the modern taste. The Art Multi 8 Set even comes with a sketchbook for you to explore what you can do with this versatile tool!

The Super Multi 8 on the other hand, is customised for text-based productivity. Think checking, labelling, note-taking or annotating. The Super Multi 8 is a great tool for both students and working adults who prefer the analog way of organizing information. 

Equipped with a variety of functions from ballpoint inks to fluorescent highlighting leads, the Super Multi 8 helps with bookworms looking to pack light!
